We Love Our Community

Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen

The Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen has been a cornerstone in the community for many years, providing hot, nutritious meals to the homeless and vulnerable populations of Idaho Falls seven days a week. Since its inception, the Soup Kitchen has remained committed to serving those in need, offering a safe space for individuals to access food and support. AgeWell Connections proudly partners with the Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen throughout the year, bringing together teams of local professionals to contribute their time and efforts in support of the Soup Kitchen's mission. This collaboration strengthens the community’s collective responsibility to care for its most at-risk members.

  • The Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen plays a vital role in providing hot meals daily to the homeless and less fortunate members of our community. This essential service relies heavily on the generosity of private donations and grants to continue its mission. By visiting their website, you can make a direct impact by donating to support their efforts. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure that those in need receive nourishment and care. • The Soup Kitchen has a 38-year history of serving a noontime meal to those in need, beginning in 1985 with two Episcopal church members serving sandwiches on weekends. Today, stemming from those beginnings, the Soup Kitchen is blessed with dedicated and trained teams of volunteers for every day of the year.

Our volunteers are the heart of what we do.  We have transitioned from pandemic restrictions to once again offering in-person dining with a personal touch.

As of the end of May, we've served 15,273 meals in 2023, including 494 meals for children. Our total meal count is 968,521—and we expect to hit 1 million meals in 2024.

Our new Managers, Eric and Serenah Hamlin, have several years of experience uplifting those suffering from food insecurity.  In the upcoming year, we hope to continue providing meals to our guests, while combating inflation in food and supply costs. We also plan to upgrade outdated equipment, such as roasters, pots, pans, and even dining ware.

Some of our equipment is more than 20 years old. We are a stand-alone 501(c)3 non-profit that operates on the generosity of our community.  If you feel so moved and would like to help support our mission, please use the link below to make a tax-deductible donation to the Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen. You can also visit here to donate online.

Your generosity will be used to provide a sanctuary and a nourishing meal to our guests.

Alzheimer’s Association

AgeWell Connections is proud to support the Alzheimer's Association's annual event, Walk to End Alzheimer's, which aims to raise crucial funds for research and programs to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. This event brings together communities to honor those affected by Alzheimer's and to support efforts for a world without Alzheimer's. In Idaho alone, over 36,000 individuals are living with Alzheimer's, while nationwide, that number exceeds 6 million. These staggering statistics highlight the urgent need for continued research and support, making events like the Walk to End Alzheimer's essential in the fight against this devastating disease.

  • Alzheimer's disease affects millions of individuals worldwide, with over 6 million people living with the condition in the United States alone. It is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. and the only cause of death among the top 10 that cannot be prevented, cured, or slowed. The disease disproportionately impacts older adults, with one in three seniors dying with Alzheimer's or another dementia. By 2050, the number of people with Alzheimer's in the U.S. is expected to nearly triple, reaching around 13 million. In addition to those diagnosed, millions of family members and caregivers are affected, providing care for loved ones, often at significant emotional and financial cost. Alzheimer’s remains a pressing public health challenge, emphasizing the need for increased research and resources. goes here
