This is due to the specialized services and enhanced staff support needed for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Memory care is usually paid for out-of-pocket, through long-term care insurance, or with other benefits depending on eligibility. In Idaho, Medicaid may help cover the cost of memory care for those who qualify under specific Medicaid programs. However, Medicare does not cover the cost of memory care or other long-term residential care services.
